Alcohol-based Hand Sanitizer

NFPA Journal: Fire Safety Considerations for Hand Sanitizer:

Due to social distancing guidelines and restrictions, more people are remaining home and cooking for themselves and their families. This social change has caused an increase in the number of cooking related fires in many areas. NFPA has some great information to help reduce the chance of a culinary disaster in your community!

Wildland/ Urban Interface

New York State, as well as many other areas of the country, are currently operating under a burn ban until May 15th. This order is placed each year to reduce the risk of human behavior causing wildfires.  While many people don’t associate New York with wildland fires, many areas of our great state experience wildland fires on an annual basis, including Long Island, the Hudson Valley, and the Adirondacks. NFPA has put together some great information on how to reduce this threat in our communities.
