Scheduled Votes from the Ulster County Legislature and City of Kingston School Board Pushed Back to Allow for Additional Comments

“We are planning to release the completed report from NDC with comments from our impacted taxing jurisdictions on Friday. As I have said, a decision of this magnitude requires an impartial assessment of the costs and benefits of the project. The completed report will allow the public to see the full picture of the community impacts of the Kingstonian in a fair and transparent way.” – Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan

“NDC has now completed our preliminary report on the cost benefit of the Kingstonian project. We have shared our draft report with the County, so that they can allow for additional comments from impacted tax jurisdictions.” – Senior Director of NDC Kevin Gremse

“While we wait for the finalized report from NDC, the Ulster County Legislature will delay all votes related to the Kingstonian. This will allow the needed time for all parties involved to better understand the contents of the independent report.” – Ulster County Legislative Chairman Dave Donaldson

“As part of our Uniform Tax Exemption Policy, our Board has made it a point to try to obtain the consent of all the affected Tax Jurisdictions on deviated PILOT Agreements.  We support each Jurisdiction doing their own due diligence on any of these Projects. By working together, we can help ensure that the residents of Ulster County receive the best possible outcome.” – Ulster County IDA Chairman James Malcolm

“The Kingston City School District is reviewing the preliminary report from NDC. As a result, we will not have a vote on the proposal until we have heard from all parties.” – Kingston City School District Board President James Shaughnessy, Jr.
